Implementation
Why do our website and pitch deck look like different companies?
Compare a real page, slide and customer message. Identify which decisions disagree, choose the current version of each, and give the people making those materials one maintained source. You may need a clearer handoff rather than a new identity.
Updated

Find where the versions split
Collect the homepage, a recent sales deck and one piece of customer communication. Compare the logo version, type, color, explanation of the offer and tone. Record the mismatch and who maintains each item. Do not ask a designer to “make it consistent” without showing where it differs.
Check whether the disagreement is accidental or useful. A presentation needs larger type than a dense product screen. Consistency means shared decisions, not identical layouts. Fix conflicting files and messages before forcing every format into one template.
Make a small handoff people can follow
Name one maintained location for approved logos, fonts, colors, a short description of the offer and examples of correct use. Mark outdated files as superseded. Assign someone to maintain the source and tell collaborators which files to use for new work. A shared folder and a short document may be enough for a small team.
If the underlying decisions still conflict, resolve the positioning or identity before making more templates. A designer or agency can help with that work. Sigil’s Book is another option when you need a connected identity and implementation files; it does not automatically update every existing slide or website for you.
Open the files before assigning implementation
Check that the symbol and wordmark open correctly. Test a small use such as a favicon and a reversed use on a dark background. A file existing in a ZIP is not the same as a file working in the intended application.
Install the font in a test document and inspect the characters your product uses. Review the license and keep the original files with the chosen revision.
Trace one application back to the rules
Take a homepage or presentation example and identify the type roles, color meanings, logo treatment and tone. If the team cannot connect the example to the rules, record the missing decision before copying the visual.
Sigil’s Book includes application examples, tokens and brand.md. Use the examples to understand the rules, then implement them in your own components and content.
Keep one approved revision
Name the version the team should use. Keep source assets intact and make derivatives separately. A writer should not use old voice guidance while a developer installs the new colors.
Review accessibility, responsive behavior and font loading in the actual product. A polished brand book does not prove those implementation details are correct.
- Open the SVG logo and small-format assets.
- Test the fonts with real text and numbers.
- Inspect the tokens and their intended roles.
- Read the voice and imagery guidance.
- Rebuild one application from the rules.
- Share one approved revision with the team.
Common questions
- What should I send to my developer?
- Send the book, logo assets, font files, tokens and brand.md together, with the approved version clearly identified.
- Can I use the examples as templates?
- Use them to understand the system. Adapt the layout to your content and product rather than assuming every screen has the same job.
